The journal “Elektronnaya obrabotka materialov” was founded in 1965 under the initiative of academician B. R. Lazarenko, an outstanding expert in electrical discharge machining.
The journal “Elektronnaya obrabotka materialov” is a non-profit and non-commercial scientific journal, which publishes open access articles under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) License that permits use, distribution and reproduction in any medium so long as the original work is properly cited.
It is a peer-reviewed scientific journal. It publishes both original and review papers on topical theoretical themes and practical areas of application of electroerosion and electrochemical methods of materials processing; on physical and chemical methods of obtaining macro- micro- and nano-scale materials and investigations of their properties; on electrical processes in technology, chemistry, in the process of treatment of biological products and foodstuffs; on electromagnetic fields in biological systems.
Under the title “Surface Engineering and Applied Electrochemistry”, the English version of the journal, is issued by the Publishing House Allerton Press, Inc., with the participation of MAIK "Nauka/ Interperiodica". The English version of the journal is distributed by Springer, with the online version via the INTERNET. The English version of the journal has a 2012 impact factor 0.289; it is available online at http://www.springer.com/engineering/production+engineering/journal/11987.

National Bibliometric Instrument is a scientific electronic library which stores, classifies and measures public data regarding scientific publications of researchers from the Republic of Moldova. At the moment this data refers specifically to scientific articles published in national scientific journals of A, B and C categories (especially those found in electronic format), evaluated and accredited according to the requirements approved by the Supreme Council for Science and Technological Development (SCSTD) and the National Council for Accreditation and Attestation (CNAA).
The repository is being progressively updated with new articles and in time aims to become an important database of periodicals, that provides relevant data for evaluation of research results, researchers personal merits and for decision support systems.
Publication of papers in either Russian or English is free-of-charge.
